Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower

This is a modular 5-petal origami flower which means you do need to fold a unit of the same design 5 times and then assemble the units (without glue) to form the flower. 

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 1: Start with a 3 inch x 3 inch (10cm x 10cm) square paper, color side down. You could use the regular 6 inch paper but for this origami, it actually looks better with the smaller size paper.

Fold paper in half on the vertical axis. Crease well and unfold.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 2: Fold both the top right and left corners to the center. Crease well and unfold.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 3: Fold both the top right and left corners to meet the diagonal creases you made in Step 2.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 4: Fold the top right and left corners to the center again.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 5: Fold both sides to meet the center crease.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 6: Fold the bottom right corner to the left edge.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 7: Unfold paper to what you had at the beginning of Step 5.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 8: Make the diagonal folds as indicated below.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 9: Now make a valley fold and fold down the top layer as shown. Press paper flat on the edges.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 10: Bring the left side over to the center. Crease well.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 11: Fold paper in half by making a mountain fold. Crease well.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 12: Make the diagonal fold as indicated below. Crease well.

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 13: One more valley fold...

Origami Modular 5-Petal Flower Step 14: This completes one modular unit. Repeat Steps 1 to 12 and make a total of 5 units.
